Its quite possible that Amex has handed over the account to them. How can i do that? Automated system said that 'other AMEX office is handleing this account' Long story short : I want to pay off this card debt but not to some random guy but to AMEX. I tried calling customer care but automated system gave me the same guy's number. I can't access my online account so i cant even talk to them. I feel completly helpless, i don't know how to contact real AMEX. But i don't want to give this guy my bank info to make payment. I am applying for Grad plus loan for med school and i need to clear this up before actually applying. I still don't feel he is real AMEX employee but i need to get rid off this debt ASAP.

I first started getting this call early 2014 but i ignored this guy based on the way he was telling me everything. It's hard to believe this calls are legit. The call quality is not even good and the way he talks doesn't seem so professional. He only demands payment over phone! I asked him if there is way i can send him check, he kepts saying no. It doesn't have any names of person who is writing me, no signature nothing. The mails he has send me has AMEX letter head but it has PO box adress from Paramus,NJ. So it seems like the call is coming from other country.

This one specific guy who calls me claims to be employee of AMEXand but he has accent more like Indian.

From past year out of no where 'American express global collection' has been contacting me to collect this debt.įirst, they used to call, now sending me settement offers in mail.

So i have charged off account of $900 with AMEX from 2013.
